Default External display question

Hello all, I am using PT on a laptop with an external display, using it "as separate display". I have an RTA on the main buss, and I'd like to keep that plugin window active on the external display, and do all my other work on the laptop screen. When I drag the plug to the display, whenever I open another plugin it replaces the RTA plug I'm wanting to keep open for reference. Anyone know how to make this happen?
