What format to send master out on.
What is the best format to send a master disc out on. I tried WAV but it doesnt play in all players. What will play in all Players??

what is the best format to make a master disc for a custumer to take to a duplicator. I bounced the mix to disc using WAV but it doesnt play in all players. What is the best way to make that final mix just before you hand it over to the custumer.

A .wav @ 16bit 44.1K will play on all CD players once the CD is CLOSED or FINALIZED. A non-finalized disk will not play on all machines. This sounds like a disk burning issue more than a format issue.

Thanks guys for your help. I burned it as a WAV file but I think it was 24 bit instead of 16 bit. This would change things I'm sure. Thanks again.

Don't forget(not sure what your knowledge level is), Pro Tools does not directly create audio CD's. That requires another program. It CAN be done with iTunes, but Toast seems to be a top choice for Mac users. I use Wavelab and Sony CD Architect here(I think both are available for Mac as well now).

man i wish Sony would port CD Architect over to Mac......one of the best audio programs made....
