Default Mix review online service

Hi all,

Is there a service, where you could upload a video and later swap the audio track for mix review purposes?

It takes too much time to bounce to quicktime, then upload the whole video again for new audio mix review - would make sense to just upload a new audio track. Even better, if clients could choose from different mix versions.

This would be very useful service.

Cheers,
Tuomas Klaavo

Bounce to QT is very fast if you use the “same as source” codec option....

Yes it is... but then you need to keep a h.264 or similar smaller-size version of the video in the session to make bounced videos that could be uploaded quickly - I am thinking of TV episodes or even features, where ProRes Proxy or DNxHD files are many gigabytes in size.

I am looking for ways to put a new version of a mix quickly online for clients to review, and thought it would be great to be able to just swap the audio in an existing video on Vimeo, frame.io or similar service.

We could also host videos on our own local server, removing the upload time. I'm currently researching video streaming server software, that could be hosted locally...

That would be cool... I would use that.

As a work around on projects that I know will have multiple revision (mix by email)... I have 2 video track in my timeline. ProRes or DNx for working... then a squished H.264 optimized for posting, that I just switch in for bouncing same as source.

It has cut down my bouncing/converting time considerably.

Obviously not as awesome as what you describe, but works pretty well.

I do similar if my client can’t listen/watch NOW via Source Live

I agree that an online version of bounce to disc and append to online video would be useful.

I just realized that if I put a video on our local FTP server (running on Rumpus software), the web version lets users preview the file on a browser. Plays smoothly...
That's the fastest way I can do it, no uploads, just copy over the local network.
