Yes it can. There has been very little updates and i believe we still have a version or two before that installed and haven’t updated the Avid plugins or VI for like 2 years and it just worls. We use 2020 12 ultimate and Macs.

I think the Avid plugins already run on Big Sur however unsupported but that doesn’t equate to not working

Meant next releases are likely supporting Apple Silicon natively, both PT and plugins.

That would be awesome and imagine when apple comes our with an ”M2” with 32/64GB ram or more hehe

Then our 25K Mac Pro’s from 2019 will be worth around 10K if that even

we really should have waited to buy new Macs, but sure these are beasts with 384GB ram and 28 cores HOWEVER I am super sure the new Macs will smoke our MP’s when the bigger music geared versions pop out and probably for half of what we paid 16 months ago hehe #Moneywasted

We will keep them for a while as we can write them off soon and then trade them in for the new monsters once there are new macs that can compete with the MP’s we already have. It has become a bit wasteful as we have 2 mint 12core 6.1 trashcans just sitting in their boxes inside a closet now wasting away. We can’t get much for them as they are 8 years old which is like 500 years in human years hahaha

Saw a 12 core 64GB 512GB Flash for 10.000kr which is about 1200 USD so there might be hope still to get some money back. Both of them have been written off 6 years ago so I guess any amount is a plus. And we can use that for even more hardware

Thank you, I’ll load them in. I’m happy with the new 7.1 Mac Pro. It’s still going to take two years for the new M’s and software to be ready. It will pay for itself by that time. Could not be happier with the 16 core, 384 gigs of ram, x16 Sonnet SSD cards with m.2’s and the old steady HDX 3 set up. The new Mac’s will be something to look forward to.
