Default Digi002- New Fader Knobs & Hard copy of Manual

Does Digidesign provide owners of the Digi002 with a hard copy of the owner's manual if they want one? I read in an earlier post about someone picking up better fader knobs for the Digi002. Does anyone know where to get them and for how much? Also, are they worth it? I think the earlier post that mentioned it said that the New Fader knobs felt and looked better than the ones that came with the Digi002.

Thanks

I think someone said that they ordered a set of Control 24 faders as a replacement for the ones on the 002.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That was me... I mentioned (in my Digi 002 review) that I personally don't care very much for the stock fader knobs on the '002. I prefer the more traditional shape and a line across the middle of them. So yes, I ordered a set of 8 Control | 24 fader knobs directly from Digidesign. I think it was somewhere in the $35 range. Money well spent IMO.

As far as the manual hardcopy, you have two choices. 1) Take the .pdf file to a copy shop like Kinko's, and pay them to print / bind the manual for you. Cost: Around $50 or so. 2) Buy the hardcopy manual from the Digi Store. Cost: Around $35.

Are the fader knobs the conductive plastic type? I rather have the P&G knobs that I am used to from the large frame consoles. More like the Pro Control ones. I wonder if they would work?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yes, they're the Control 24, conductive plastic ("metalicized") type of fader knobs. I really don't know if the P&G's would fit on the Digi 002's fader shafts or not. If they did, I imagine they'd probably work. I had actually considered the P&G's, but they're 1) very expensive and 2) I don't really know if they'll fit for certain. I'm not normally in the habit of pulling fader knobs off of SSL's when I am working at larger studios. But I do like the "feel" of these much better than the "stock" Digi 002 fader knobs.

CraigD, you're welcome. I'm glad I could help.
