So you're one of those "if I don't have an issue, there are no issues" guys. Good for you.

It's hard to believe that your indignation to the point of clouded judgement is going to fix your issues... or anyone else's.

How is my judgment clouded?
And when did anyone claim voicing their opinion is an attempt at fixing anything? What are you even talking about?
In my opinion Avid does an abysmal job. This is a forum, a place to share and discuss opinions. It's hard to believe that there are people who don't understand the concept of a public forum.

Everyone's getting cross now... it's interesting that some people find Pro Tools almost unusable and wait in vain for their problems to be fixed while others seem to be saying there's (almost) nothing wrong with it. My experience of Pro Tools varies from day to day. Sometimes I can't get the thing to behave itself at all; other times - like yesterday - I find myself at the end of a long day realising that Pro Tools hasn't messed up once.

Like everyone else, I wish there was more tangible return from my subscription fees. Like everyone else, I like to blame Avid for everything. Like everyone else, I manage to get a surprising amount of good work work done on Pro Tools.

I recorded a big band at work yesterday. I had 30 mics in record and the Pro Tools HDX mixer was handling six stereo foldback mixes, talkback, reverse talkback, click, and monitoring (we don't use a mixing desk) while steaming through whole-band drop-ins etc all day long at 24/96. I wish every day could be like that. Today I'm doing a voice-over with one track in record. It'll probably crash and burn...

Keep in mind that a certain percentage of supporters are doing so by pulling wool over their own eyes. To them, to suggest that ProTools isn't perfect would be to suggest that their investment isn't on solid ground. That's uncomfortable. It takes a bit of bravery to see the forest through these trees, and to accept that you could be using dull tools for your trade.

And then there are those with financial ties to Avid. Supporters, in more ways than one. This forum doesn't require those people to state their professionall associations (as some do), so who knows who has interests which run deeper in those ways. It certainly explains some "opinions," eh?
