logic and dae problem - odd...
digistas;
When playing back any number of Logic Audio Mac audio tracks, <any> arrange page activity on unrelated audio tracks, ie; muting tracks and/or moving audio, results in a <total> audio playback drop out - all audio - lasting about 2 seconds. This does <not> happen when playing through the Mac-av outs, and does <not> happen in the Protools 5.01 application. The system is stable and has been working flawlessly for about two years: Mac beige G3, 256 meg ram, atto scsi accel, glyph 18 gig u2w drives, word clock by Rosendahl, all connectors hi quality, etc. Hardware is digi PT mix plus. We have done all of the obvious: Norton disc doc, FWB hard disc toolkit, atto, rebuilt desktop, zapped P-ram, trashed all preferences, re-installed Logic, checked extension sets. Any help is appreciated, ciao, s.h. |

Re: logic and dae problem - odd...
Try going to "Monitors" in your control panel and reducing to 256 colors.
Not as pretty, but worked for me. Takes some of the strain off of the screen redrawing . . . hyp0static [ June 19, 2001: Message edited by: hyp0static ] |

Thanks for the tip, although it didn't cure the problem. If you happen to run into anyone who had the same problem and found a cure please tell them about me.
This problem is really a brain strainer and is working my last nerve. HELP~~!! |

Re: logic and dae problem - odd...
Hi,
the problems sounds familiar - that's the good news. Experienced that on a 9600/400 G3 running 8.6. , using Logic 4.6.3. and Mixplus Hardware. It happened too, grabbing loops in the arrange window. The bad news is - I never got rid of the problem until I changed to a G4/733 with 9.1, using Logic 4.7.0. and the 5.1. PT DAE/DSI and all that good stuff. Sorry, but that is the truth, as far as I'm concerned. Made your day, right ? In grief Juergen |

Trirats;
Grief is apropos - when you say that the problem never went away, does that mean that you exhaustively tried every possible fix and still had no results? I don't doubt that you did. I suppose I will soon be spending some more $ myself. grief to grief, s.h. |

Re: logic and dae problem - odd...
Peace folks! Here's the Cure to this Problem:
You have to make changes in the DAE Buffer Size goto DAE -> Set Buffersize -> Restart Logic and DAE. On your Systems Setting Nr.2 will be the right Choice, even check the Cache-Settings in your Memory Controlpanel. Niko
