Cool Works for me.....

This is an extract of the Tape Echo description: Read it carefully...

Inspired by the ultimate vintage solid state tape
echo unit, Tape Echo supplies supple, crunchy
echoes, and can, with a flick of the wrist, can be
pushed into swells of wild self-oscillation, each
repeat more murky, dusty, and gritty than the
next. A classic.

A classic indeed...

I have been flicking my wrist all weekend and have truely sent myself into swells of wild self-oscillation almost to the point of going blind.
going blind going blind going blind

And unlike early digital gear the Echoplex exhibited no "Zippering" artifacts while manipulating the lever.

Then it was analogue and had "Buttons" of the push-pull type

Careful with any predelay settings as you would not want to suffer from any premature reverberation issues.
