Still not working, I'm pretty much ready to concede defeat.

Any more ideas would be awesome....B.

qgrm,

if you can wait until this evening...I can throw together a small patch that you could run alongside the patch you are working with and let you record its output to a file... you can then dump that file into PT.

I am no longer on OS 9 so I can't help much in trouble-shooting your problems with PT...

Not that this solves what you're trying to do, but if you just want to get the file recorded, so that you can import it into Protools, use Spig

Hmmm been a while since OS9 for me, but I seem to remember maybe there was a glitch in Roger's instructions for Spig ?
Here's the version I touched up for my students anyway, everything must be done in this order :

" open SPIG
Set DRIVER to ‘ASIO ASIO Sound Manager’ (Protools FREE users)
Set DRIVER to ‘ASIO ASIO DigiDesign Direct IO’ (Digi-001)
SOURCE to ‘SM/QT’ for both Protools Free and D-001 users.
FILE FORMAT to ‘.SD11’ (as in image above).
Click speaker icon and bring the two faders up at least halfway.

On your computer, open the Sound Manager control panel (‘control panels – sound’ or from the Control Strip).
Select the output called 'spigot_doobee'.

Play your source sound, you should hear some level through SPIG.

You must first NAME the file; click NAME FILE button and select a location. You must name a new file each time you wish to make a recording. Note that it defaults to the same name – change it so you don’t erase previous recordings.

Click RECORD to start recording. Click it again when you’ve finished, or it will go on recording until it’s filled up your hard drive !

When finished, change the Control Panel setting back to BUILT-IN. "

Also, do you have a link for the patch you're trying to record ?

Ok followed your Spig instructions to the tee, and it does not work, no level coming in. I'm guessing it might be the same reason Directconnect isnt working.

I'm about to take my rig and pitch it out the window. I'd be forever grateful if one of you guys could help me troubleshoot this, namely Directconnect, before this occurs.

This is worst game I've ever played! B.

I'm actually out of ideas.
I don't have OS9 running anymore, so I can't get into the intricacies of types of Direct Connect plugs etc.
I might be time for you to go to 9.2.2 though ?
Sorry I can'thelp more.
