Default finally...100% Panther

After waffling for almost three months and pestering the DUC with questions I finally did it...bit the bullet and upgraded... the process was so painless I can hardly believe it...

hardware: Desktop G4, 933 mhz, 1.25 gigs ram, Digi001

After backing up all my work (on two hard drives) I did a clean install of OS X Panther...once loaded...I installed all the latest updates... I then installed PT 6.2.3...followed by my other software (Max/Msp and Reaktor)...

...ran the sample session...loaded up previous sessions...got audio and midi in and out of Max/Msp and Reaktor through the 001... all with no problem... (some Max users have mentioned problems with their 001 setups in OS X)

anyway...I was so please I thought I would share...

sg

PS...I was so pleased I did the same to my laptop G4 which was on OS 10.2...it's much snappier now.

I am on OS 10.3.3...

Just a note...when I installed all the latest updates for Panther...there was an update for my superdrive... previously (in 9.2.2) I was unable to burn DVDs... now things work fine... it may be completely unrelated...perhaps just a glitch that I never figured out...

glad to read that all went well with the big switch.

How is the track count and how many tracks are you able/recording at one time?

Cheers

I haven't had a chance to really push the system and get an idea of track count...

does anyone have a link to the current test people are using to determine track count?
