pro tools slow clicking on buttons or not responding 11.1.2 10.9.1

Hi,

I've been trying to use 11.2.1 on Mac 10.9.1 but running into many issues. It worked long enough to record a couple audio tracks but now I open it and it's dog slow, often pinwheeling for minutes on end, if it does recover then I can't click on menu items and I've gotten a few crashes. It's not a cpu usage issue, as 'htop' shows Pro tools using almost nothing. No other apps are open and I've installed no other 3rd party plugins. This behavior is unusable. WTF is going on? What troubleshoots do I try now that there are no Digi Databases to delete these days?

I noticed the problem started happening when I was toggling hardware between my Eleven Rack and my Pro Tools aggregate IO or other soundcards.

MBP 2.9Ghz i7
8GB
10.9.1
Eleven Rack connected directly to MBP
external USB3 1TB drive with session

I'm about to reinstall pro tools to see if that does anything useful.

I also get 'play stop' buttons flashing when i try to play my session.

reinstalling the eleven rack driver seems to at least temporarily resolved my problem. There seems to be some serious issues around switching hardware on 11.2.1 though.
