Default Does ProTools 12 work with HD and non HD licenses ?[solved]
Is the 12 application installer universal ? Are HD features enabled depending on the iLok you have connected ?

I'm working in an environment where we have multiple workstations with Pro Tools 12 installed. The license used for all of them is non HD. I need to mix and deliver surround. If the company purchases a single 12 HD license can I simply plug in the iLok to a workstation with 12 installed and have access to the HD features ? Or will I need to install an HD version if the software.

I searched the forums and avid site but haven't been able to turn up answers for this particular situation. Is it possible to have both the HD and non HD work on the same system ?

Despite my signature at work we are Windows 7 professional.

There's only one installer. The HD license will unlock the HD features.

If you plug in an iLok with the PT 12 HD authorization you get all HD features immediately.
