Default Pro Tools 10 Laggy

So I just upgraded from PT8mp to Crossgrade Pt10 and it seems laggy on everything. Have a Intel 4 2.52 4gb ramc 1 Western Digi Black 7200 operating system HD, and a 2nd Lacie 7200 audio HD both Pcie. With a 1gbNvidia 6400 Video card. I had the system set up to run on PT8 via Avids windows adjustments. Only about 10 to 13 processes run in my control panel.

So PT will lagg when loading a Plugin, even stock Avid plugins. And will lagg when mixing=moving faders, eq, etc. It freezes then will come back on. Seems to do this randomly, and my system usage is 33% on this mix. No automation yet. And delay compensation is set to High, with max sample rates on playback engine.

Is there any mods to Windows I could do to get rid of this lagg?

Thanx in advance!

this a thread in this forum. "Pro Tools Freezes" and another one taking count on how many people have freezing problems. Avid was able to reproduce one situation where this happens. There are Windows users that don't seem to have this problem. I heard another update is coming eventually that may address this.

Same here. I actually am able to work okay, but I have to be patient and let processes finish(like waiting for a plugin to open before trying to click on anything). 4GB of RAM is dead minimum so you may consider an upgrade on that(running 12 GB on both my machines).

It did not help me. I ordered 12GB tripple channel ram, but it did not help at all!

Like already mentioned one has to be patient working in Pro Tools 10.x.x. It acts up with small passing freezes. Seems to happen more often when In a hurry.

Just a thought - do you have all the speed stepping and OClocking off in BIOS including Video?

Could just be the same as the freeze problem, but the BIOS tweaks are worth a try. I've waited months for an Avid fix at times.
Depends on the brand of mother board and processor for which settings are available.
It's often called advanced C-State, best to get the BIOS manual if you can.

I Performed tweaks...to no avail...I think Avid needs to perform some tweaks to resolve this... :)
