Ok, before getting a card, I guess I'll try creating the separate network for Dante.

I did just download the latest HDN driver from my Master Account and Pro Tools 2020.9.1.123 is still not showing any HDN interface, despite having the Digilink license on my iLok. I even tried deactivating and reactivating the license just to coax it, still no luck.

But I'm able to work this way, but of course would prefer to be able to see and select the OMNI for sending out tracks to the desk.

Head scratching time!

HD Native Thunderbolt needs the following to work and be recognized:
TB2 -> TB3 Apple adapter to connect to your 7,1
Current HD Driver installed (also check in System Prefs > Security > General to make sure the driver is allowed to run)

Active DigiLink auth on your attached iLok.

An actively powered up DigiLink interface connected to Port 1 on the HDNTB.
HDNTB should show a red LED lit on the front (by the phones) if the thunderbolt connection is active.

All that checks out, but the account is for students' use, so I'll have to tweak the permissions to allow security to access that driver.
That MUST be it!

I'll tweak and report back Monday.

Hmm, I've added all files/apps from Avid into the whitelist for SysPrefs > Security > General > Privacy and still don't see the HDN OMNI appear in Audio Midi setup or Pro Tools.

Swapped digilink cables, got the red light on the TBN box on both cables, so they seem fine.
Swapped TB cables and adaptors, no change (but DADman probably wouldn't show digilink if the TB cable was faulty).

This was all done on a clean install (factory installed OS from apple) of PT Ultimate. Digikey license is present and activated on the iLok.
I also reinstalled the HDN Driver for this version of PT (latest as of today).

Do you know the filename of the actual driver so I can find it's actual path?

Still no luck. I’ve ordered a new digilink cable, even though SysProfiler sees the omni under TB, and the little red led is on the avid TB box.

Will post back when I get to try the new cable.

It would be worth testing with a new Admin user account on your workstation. As long as you have current licenses for Pro Tools Ultimate and DigiLink you should be good to go.

Well, I've just reinstalled OS, ProTools Ultimate, the HD Driver, all on a fresh Admin account.

Also, I ordered and tried a new HDN TB Box and a new DigiLink cable.

Still not seeing the OMNI, other than in Apple System Profiler where it shows connected to a TB bus.

Can't access it in Audio Midi Setup either, or Pro Tools.

Pretty well tried everything here, any more suggestions?

We did have another user on a 7,1 with HDNTB experience an issue where another driver happened to be conflicting on boot.

All good now.

Turns out I needed to run this command to allow the driver to load, in the case where System Prefs does not prompt a permission allow.

sudo kextload /Library/Extensions/DigiDal.kext

So anyone in a managed environment like a school, will need to run this with root privs, or have your IT department do it for you.

Very simple, and very fast.
Now we're happy campers.
