"AAE error 22 was encountered." What is error 22?

Upon importing drum tracks from Superior Drummer 3, this error began popping up with trying to do any playback at all. This is the first time I have ever seen this error, its also the first time I've tried importing drums since upgrading systems. Google searches only result in solutions for AAE Error 2 and AAE errors in general, not AAE Error 22. I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out what is going on.

Today I encountered the exact same error : "AAE error 22", in the following scenario:

- import a wav file in a pro tools project ("copy on import" is disabled in my preferences so the wav file has not been copied)
- then, in the filesystem, replace the wav file by a shorter wav file with the same name
- play the protools project... the error is triggered while playing the wav file

It looks like this error means "the wav file is smaller than expected" : it's probable that pro tools remembers the size of the wav file from when it was first imported, and now there is a mismatch with the size of the actual wav file in the filesystem... or something like that (we would have to look at the source code to confirm this)

I hope this helps for your case! Maybe you had the same thing : maybe the drum tracks you imported got overwritten and protools was confused about this?
