Default How stable is Pro Tools on Windows 7 versus Mac OS?

I was wondering if it would be worth it to use boot camp on my mac pro to run Windows and Pro Tools HD. I've heard that PT in general crashes less on Windows than Mac OS (who would've thought?), so I thought I'd ask what the general consensus was here. Is anyone here running windows and Pro Tools HD on a Mac computer? How does it run for you? Thanks for the feedback!

OSX is better for anything related to composing/producing IME. Maybe whenever 64bit comes out it will level the playing field a little but for example maschine sucks on W7 in PT, the sync doesn't always sync, scenes change late etc. Not an issue on OSX. Same thing with the arps and EG's in omnisphere.

Also omni and kontakt have the memory servers in OSX.

OTOH W7 can be good for mixing if you can get a 6031 free system running.

I use both, PTHD on Win7 (32 and 64 bit) as well as PTLE on OSX 10.6.2 (?) and since they use different engines and kernels, my experience varies. For the most part, OSX is less an issue...but I push the envelope with my PTHD system...so most likely my issues, not PT.

My Win 7 HD system is rock solid, powerful, and smooth. I prefer it to OSX. I don't use synths much, just recording, editing, and mixing.

I go between an HD3/Mac Pro/PT8 system(pro-built and installed) and my own PC/Windows 7/LE system(now gone to PT9) and have more hiccups on the Mac setup. I also bought a Mac Pro quad as an upgrade to my dual core LE system(2 years ago) and the quad Mac was only marginally more powerful than the dual core PC, so from all the reading here, all I can say is, its a crapshoot, no matter which way you go. As for OSX vs Win7, I always recommend you go with the platform/OS you are most comfortable with, as both are capable of solid performance(and both are capable of making you cry)

Both Omnisphere/Trilian and Kontakt memory servers are very important on my Mac system, thanks for the heads up! I couldn't work without them...
