List of default Pro Tools preferences?
Due to some trouble (Pro Tools being unresponsive when launched until I force quit and relaunch; Pro Tools QuickTime Server seems to always be unresponsive, but I can still run Pro Tools), I'm considering pulling out my Pro Tools preferences file, and starting from scratch. Going forward, I'd like to have a (text, etc.) file listing Pro Tools preferences by category, showing preference defaults, and any changes I make.
1) Is there a (text / web) list of Pro Tools default preferences? On a related note, it appears the preferences file for v. 2018 is: ~/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools/Pro Tools Prefs That has a modify date of the last date I used PT. 2) That's the one I should remove, correct? I have a Pro Tools Prefs file in ~/Preferences/ , but last modified in 2014, so I suspect that is where an earlier version of PT stored it. thanks |

Re: List of default Pro Tools preferences?
Try using Guitardom's "Trasher" app. It may help. You can find it here. http://www.pro-tools-pc.us/category-s/1814.htm

That's for older versions of Pro Tools. Save yourself some hassle and download my free utility for deleting Pro Tools preference files (there are more than those ones to get rid of!). Cheers, Pete |

Re: List of default Pro Tools preferences?
Not sure if it will benefit you in this instance, but an OSX thing that I use sometimes is the key combo command-shift-3. It will throw a screen capture on your desktop. you can then drag it to a folder of saved things or whatever. It definitely comes in handy at times, if you can remember to use it.

Re: List of default Pro Tools preferences?
Good one, thanks. I also use command-shift-4, then if I'm trying to capture just a window, put the cursor over the window, and hit the spacebar. It captures just the window I'm after (in the clipboard), and I don't have to drag around the window. Cool thing I learned today, is that even works with a window that is partially obscured. Click on part of the window, press the spacebar, and the entire window is captured.
