Re: venue profile offline editor
Nope your eyes are 20/20. You can run the software on a MAC with one of the emulation software available. I use Parallels on my Intel Mac and it works fine. And to answer your next question (will there be a Mac version available)....According to Sheldon -- No.

Re: venue profile offline editor
and the reason that there will not be a mac version is the console runs on a version of XP making the Offline Editor very easy to translate to the windows desktop environment.
I have had no problem running it in VmWare Fusion, or Bootcamp. Planning on trying WineSkin next(just for the heck of it)

Re: venue profile offline editor
Hi me again
so let me try and grasp this in my mac head 1- do i need to load bootcamp and partition my Hd and also load windows just to run this editor? I downloaded a free 14 day trial of parallel and when i try and open the d show software it just says it is an unsupported file When I use the yamahs pm5d software it just opens with rosetta on a mac!! thanks for hearing me , and further advice would be awesome Peace |

Re: venue profile offline editor
ok, yes you need to partiton your HD and install windows under bootcamp if you want to run the Venue Editor or you need to install Parallels or Fusion in the Mac Desktop, and then Windows inside of that program.
also with programs like Parallels and Fusion you need to have a license for windows, XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (I recommend xp cause it's cheap and works). The reason the PM5D editor works is because yamaha has released a version for the mac. Rosetta is apple's emulation of their older technology, it is applecentric. Basically inorder to run the editor you need to be in windows, wither it is bootcamp or parallels or fusion. So you must buy a copy of windows inorder to run the editor.
