data transfer ???? with Japan
Cheers:
My bandmate is going to live in Japan for a year. We want to keep recording with him via the Digi 001. Suggestions on data transfer wanted. Obvious solution: He accesses a Digi 001 over there, and we burn CD's, send them, and he opens them into his unit, does what he does, then sends his parts on CD back for mixing. However, he doesn't yet know what equipment he will dig up. Possibly a Roland 1680. Then we would transfer a mix to my 880, send a zip disk to him, he would do his parts, return them on zip, and then reverse the process to feed back into 001 via the SPDIF port. Comments on this idea? Any other ideas? DAT tapes? MINIDISK? THere would seem to be oodles of technology to make this project feasible. Any thoughts on internet use? What is the resolution of WAV files and how would one transfer those into the 001? Comments, suggestions, donations for Air Japan tickets, all welcome. Thanks, Carlos |
