I had to go and check their announcement and confirm that they said the Windows Vista version of Protools is coming "this" summer.

System was upgraded to Vista for other business reasons, so unfortunately my Digi 002 is offline. Since we are getting closer, any idea on when “summer” arrives for pthose of us already on Vista?

Summer officially begins June 21 2007.

Summer officially ends September 22 2007.

Digidesign could deliver it anytime during that time frame and still make good on their promise of "Coming this Summer".

If I have put this question in the wrong place, I beg your pardon, since I am new at the Conference.

Here is the issue: I bought an HP DV2220us a month or so ago, expressly for the purpose of doing sound recording using Digidesign MBOX 2 with protools. The laptop came with Vista. After struggling to install the Digidesign software into the laptop and running into a constant flow of error messages, I tried running the installation in XP compatibility mode and got even more error messages. Finally I learned from the digidesign website that their software does not work with Vista. It only works with XP, and it will be summer before it can be fixed to run with Vista. So my question is this: Is there a way to rebuild the 2220us with XP? Vista is not important, XP would be fine, and would make me perfectly happy.

Best regards
Doug Raymond

Yes, clear out vista and install an updated version of XP.
