Sequencer Comparison
Hi everybody
I happened to be at a friends studio where there were a couple of engineers present doing a listening comparison on 4 sequencers...Logic,Cubase,Pro Tools, Digital performer. I was actually amazed my self with the results and oppinions. They used the same hardware which was the project mix and a mac. One 24 bit sterio wave file,. There was nothing sientific about the test except for listening for overall warmth, bottom end,and over all nice to listen to. I was amazed when I seen the order 1-4 one been the best. one= Logic two= cubase three =protools four =digital performer. Then I had a listen myself and to be honest I had to agree and also very disapointed. WHY? Could any of you good people throw some light on this, like right or wrong and perhaps why this would be the case? brandy |

Re: Sequencer Comparison
Software coding for the plug-ins. Some can sound better than others in their own right and in the particular DAW platform itself could have a imperceptible effect.

Re: Sequencer Comparison
HI
Thank you for the reply. Personally in our own studio I tryed nuendo and protools since I dont have the other two,and to be honest i couldnt find any difference what so ever between the two of them. Its probabally a stupid question anyway and also breaking the duc rules, for this I apologise,I was just curious. Protools still rocks. brandy |
