Default Nexis or Isis good for multiple DAW use?

Will a nexis or Isis be a suitable server storage for Protools/Nuendo (or even logic)?

I find it hard to find data for how many simultaneous daws it may support.
I have Only been able To find a few older threads mentioning isis issues but that's about it.
Any good or bad experiences around?

I haven't had personal experience with Nexis, but worked a few places with Isis systems with a couple of Pro Tools workstations hanging off them simultaneously with no issue. Personally at my studio we have the SNS EVO with 6 workstations working attached over gigabit Ethernet. NAS volumes for sessions with multi read/write for easier collaboration and SAN volumes for more intensive processes (layback of film deliverables by using disk allocation to route audio to those SAN volumes)

Everything works very well, as long as you use disk cache the NAS portion is more than capable of keeping up streaming HD Video and the audio is all in the disk cache. Some users run video from the SAN especially for long form stuff but honestly I personally never find a difference, video performance in 11/12 is entirely an issue with Pro Tools and the NAS disks perform more than fast enough to stream without hiccups, but the SAN is faster and has more throughput overhead (but not multi user write capable!)

ISIS is horrible for Pro Tools. I work in a massive ISIS environment. It's main use here is for 60+ media composer stations. There are 4 Pro Tools stations connected to it. For Pro Tools, all it's good for is video playback and archiving. DO NOT use it for sessions, it's mind-numbingly slow to load projects. Soundminer is a complete disaster when running a session off the ISIS; very very very slow to transfer files.

As of now, I use USB 3.0 drives for all my sessions and audio files and ISIS for my video drives.
