Default Audio output on 192 i/o with pthd9

How do I get analog 1 and 2 audio to come out of channels 3 4 5 6 7 &8? I was told I could use 1 and 2 as my main outs which im doing, then use outputs 3 thru 8 the same way so that way I have 1 and 2 going to my monitors, 3 and 4 going to headphone amp and 5 and 6 going to a dat machine.etc. This is possible isn't it? Ive tried reassigning in the output box but no luck. Any help would be appreciated if this is possible to do. Thanks.

I can't tell for PT9, since the IO settings has been updated since then.
How it works in 12:

- Check IO Output settings. Create an output for 1/2, call it something like MAIN OUT (there probably is one already). Also create outputs for 3/4, 5/6, 7/8.
- Check IO Bus settings. If you just created the outputs, the busses have been created automatically. You can delete the busses that output to 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, all you need is MAIN OUT, make sure it says mapping to output MAIN OUT.
- Ctrl+click this mapping output, add the outputs 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 (ctrl+click adds an output instead of replacing one).

You can also use multiple outputs on your tracks, but you'll have to ctrl+click every single output going to MAIN OUT. Unless you make some final aux as an output bus. When using the track outputs, you shouldn't delete the 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 output busses.

easier way is to multi output 12 to 34 and 56. You hold down option and select another output from the drop down menu in the output io setup page.

There is one important thing to remember with 192(and with HD IO). The outputs are balanced, and if you feed an unbalanced input(like some headphone amps), you MUST NOT ground pin 3 or you can damage the unit. Since these boxes use DB25 connections, you will need to order or construct proper connections if you need to feed unbalanced inputs(as I needed to on my headphone amp). Having said that, it works dandy in any version(9/10/11/12)

Can't imagine why its not working for you. Maybe revisit the IO setup>Output tab. On my rig, I have HD IO outputs 1&2, feeding my main speakers, 3&4 feed balanced ins of my headphone amp(ART). Then I have a Focusrite OctroPre Mk II Dynamic connected via lightpipe(both in and out) and use the 8 outputs on that to feed 4 stereo mixes to 4 channels of the ART headphone amp. I have a bank of sends doing 5 stereo HP mixes and it works great,

Do you see a plus sign next to the output assignment on mix window? If not, you have only one pair of outputs selected. If you do, you should see that multiple outputs are active. I always forget if its control or option key which does it but you should be able to copy that mix of yours to multiple outputs VERY easily.
