Default strike pattern plays differently while in record mode??

I have rigged strike to trigger it's patternd from extended midi notes from midi track succesfully but when I go to record guitar on another track it plays back a pattern I did not even trigger?? I had to tak the pattern I wanted and drag it onto the key that strike kept going to on it's own. Why is this not triggering the correct pattern while I am recording on an audio track. Everything plays back as I programmed it to when in play mode. Do I have to record my guitar track first??
