Import Audio Cd C++ runtime error

Hi

Does anyone else have this problem? I Installed PT8 and when I tried to import an audio cd track it popped out a MS Visual C++ runtime library error and then Pro Tools either crashes or pops out more errors. It did the same with my PT 7.4 aswell. I ran a System Machanic Energy booster and it disabled unneeded programs and processes,maybe it threw some of needed stuff? Please anyone that can help email me directly at [email protected] if you have a fix.

I run the following:
Intel Pentium dual core 2.5GHz
Windows XP(SP 2 I think)
Project Mix
Pro Tools 8.0.315?
No outboard gear connected just an amp with monitor speakers and microphones.

It's bad to reply to yourself but Im doing this for those who haven't had any answers to this runtime error.

The only fix was to back up my data and reinstall my OS and Pro Tools. Everything was working perfectly after I had done this. As it's not always possible to do this I recommend that you use other 3rd party apps to rip cd's and import the wave file into Pro Tools.
