If you're missing an audio file that's used in your session, you get a warning on loading the session that it's missing and you can locate it.

But if a plug-in is using an audio file that is missing you get no warning. For example a sampler or a convolution reverb.

What do people do to get around this? Could AVID make it so that you get a warning at session opening?

It's probably up to the plugin manufacturer to do that - I get warnings when Kontakt can't locate samples.
