Default Pro Tools 12.8.2. slide problem

Hey,

I bought a new IMAC (i7, 4,2 Ghz, 32 GB Ram, 2 TB Fusion Drive) Software: 10.12.6.
I updated Pro Tools to 12.8.2 but I still have the problem that in Midi Editor Mode, scrolling right / left with the mouse don't stops any more.
Once I scroll right / left it goes on for a long time.
Could someone help me?
On my old IMAC everything works fine!

Thank you in advance!

Justus

Is there any way you can take that iMac back to where you got it and get one with a non-Fusion drive? Those drives are a known problem for PT usage and that may well be where your problem lies.

Also how are you doing the scrolling - manually by moving the cursor or by using a scroll wheel? Also what mouse are you using? Apple mice are not the best in the world - any mouse will work on a Mac.

Thank you musicman691 for your fast response.
I thought my old iMac would also have a Fusion Drive. But I'm not sure.
Do you think SSD runs better? Or what do you mean with "non Fusion Drive HD"?

My mouse is an apple Magic Mouse. But I'm using a Magic Mouse on my other IMAC without any problems...

Thanks a lot!

Justus

Hard to tell unless you tell us what your old system has. Open system profiler and it should tell you.

By 'non Fusion drive' I mean exactly that - a system drive that is not a Fusion drive. A true ssd would be way better.

Apple mice are horrid devices. Best to get a non-Apple mouse.

PT12 and Yosemite is a non working config and Avid has stopped support on 10.10.X and says it doesn't work. There might bemore issues that hasn't yet been found like yours but Lagging and other bugs have been reported.

Either upgrade your OS to Sierra, Not High Sierra yet or you might have swap your graphic card. Are the graphics drivers uptodate?

I don't think it's his graphics card. I've had all kinds of issues with Apple mice; that little button they call a scroll button is possibly the worst invention in the history of mankind except maybe Autotune
