Behringer x32 monitor latency issues
Hey guys, I’m still a novice and I am looking for help with my Behringer X32 in Pro Tools 12. (Windows 10)
I have the board set up and working almost perfectly with Pro Tools. The issue that I have is when I have a somebody playing an instrument or singing. I have an in ear monitor system set up for the artist to use while playing. The monitor is plugged in to, let’s say, output 5 on the board. When they are trying to play or sing with the monitor, there is a slight delay in the monitor and it throws off their performance. I tried several different types of monitors and they all do the same thing. Please help! Also, if you could recommend a monitoring system so each person can have and control their own mix so I can record the full band all at once, that would be great! I will take recommendations on other boards to use (under $1,000.00) if there are better options out there for what I am trying to do. (USB only, I’m using and Asus Laptop, i7 7th gen with 16gb ram) Thanks! |

Re: Behringer x32 monitor latency issues
Try changing the playback buffer setting lower(in Pro Tools>Setup>Playback Engine>the Playback Buffer setting offers choices like 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024. The 64 setting usually works fine for players using headphones.
This setting is how long the system has to process audio from input(your mic) to output(your headphones and monitor speakers). Lower settings push the system(cpu, RAM recording drive) and have low(er) latency. Higher settings allow the system more time to process, which creates more latency. Track at a low setting with minimal plugins. Push the buffer up when you finish recording all your audio&midi, so you can pile on the plugins

Re: Behringer x32 monitor latency issues
So.....I have used this system before with live recording.
I didn't use monitors....we just hooked up to the board and recorded the bands in a live room. I can't imagine there is a delay when monitoring from this board live, because I used this board for FOH with stage monitors....with no obvious delay. I believe that this monitoring system can work for you....but you will need to check it out for your self. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...personal-mixer https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...l-input-module
