Pro Tools 10.3.5 and Auto-Tune => 9128 errors and Crashes
Hi all,
There probably isn't much that can be done before PT 11 comes out but maybe your expert eyes and skills can spot something that I cannot. The problem is with PT & Auto-Tune. I use it sometimes while vocal comping and even a few instances of it can cause PT to first show a few 9128 error dialogs and then eventually crash PT. Vocal comping means a lot of starts and stops and that seems to be hard on my system for some reason. Playing through the session works just fine but frequent start/stops seem to cause problems at some point. The 9128 dialog box comes up every now and then (no logic there) and then finally the crash (unless I exit PT and restart again). Both happen when I press start (space bar). Luckily after the crash I am able to log out, force quit PT and restart. The PT CPU load is low (6%) and Clip and Disk loads insignificant (~1%). Windows Task Manager CPU load does not show any peaks (low utilization all the time). There aren't many other plugins active except one Aux bus reverb and a few compressors on some of the tracks so all in all the PC is not under heavy load. PC is connected to PreSonus FireStudio Project with FireWire and that link seems to be solid. PC is highly optimized (all Avid recommendations done, all BIOS optimizations done, PC is not used much for anytghing else except PT). I have all the latest versions of drivers, Windows 7 and all plugins. PT engine runs with 3 cores (6 threats) out of 4 and 85%. Buffer is 1024 samples. I have discussed with Antares and they say that it is either Pro Tools or my system generating CPU peaks for some reason. I have tested my system and checked it with the latency monitor and there does not seem to be anything peaking Windows/PC wise at least that I can see. The crash report from Windows when PT crashes is as follows: Problem signature:And finally the Sandra report - note that only C:, E:Music (recording), F:Sample (samples) drives are used for PT. The rest are backup drives (H: being a Windows mirror drive with 2 x 1TB): ID
