PCI Cards with PT 10 Native? TDM?
Does Pro Tools 10 Native run with PCI cards? (Not PCIe or PCI-X or HDX)
Do the TDM plugins work with this configuration? |

Quote:
Pro Tools 10 (HD or standard) will run with any CoreAudio (Mac) or ASIO (PC) compatible audio interface. If your USB/Firewire/PIC-whatever interface has a compatible driver then it should work with Pro Tools. As always you need to check the compatibility details, OS/Driver/PC/Interface/Pro Tools version... Quote:
TDM is old technology, but if you want it you need to purchase some used TDM cards and Pro Tools HD software. |

Re: PCI Cards with PT 10 Native? TDM?
Thanks - I have PT HD2 v 8.1.1 and bought 10 a couple years back, but then someone told me that I can't run 10 with my old HD PCI cards so I never installed 10. Now, someone else is telling me the old cards work fine in 10. I have a license for 10 but didn't want to lose me TDM plugins by going to 10.

Re: PCI Cards with PT 10 Native? TDM?
PT10 will/can support the TDM accel core cards. It's the last version to do so. And your plugs will work depending on the OEM and their code obviously.
As you already know you will need PT10HD, I'm sure you are aware but it's wasn't mentioned as HD just PT10 Prosit

You purchased Pro Tools 10 or Pro Tools HD 10? That is a huge difference you need to be clear about. You need the HD version to use TDM cards. and if you have the HD version then yes when used with your HD2 cards it will support TDM plugins, the final Pro Tools version to do so. |

Re: PCI Cards with PT 10 Native? TDM?
Thank you everyone for clarifying. I should have been more clear. I purchased PT 10 HD Native - then I was told that I can't run PT 10 HD Native with my old PCI cards (not PCIe or PCI-X) - that I would have to purchase the shorter card for some crazy amount of money.
So, with this version of PT 10 HD Native - I can not use my old PCI HD cards? But if I had purchased PT 10 HD (Not Native) - I would have been ok? |

Re: PCI Cards with PT 10 Native? TDM?
No you are good, you can run PT10HD with your TDM cards accel and core.
You will have to select them as the playback engine, and they might not play well with each other being in the same computer but that's another matter. Select the playback engine as the TDM cards and obviously have them hooked up to your interface.
