Default Re: Will AVID make us PAY for a MIDI Timing fix?

DTS just said this about the Midi Timing Issue:

We also plan on merging it into a CS release for 8.1."

So no. I guess we don't have to pay for the MIDI Timing Fix.

The person actually asked if there were any new Midi features in Pro Tool 9 and that is when they responded that MIDI features are exactly the same as 8.0.4

Oh, OK, then I misunderstood sorry, I thought he said basically 'Midi is the same as in 8.04' which I took to mean they hadn't done anything with it.

DTS said this about one MIDI fix in PT9 a couple of days ago.....

Hopefully more PT9 fixes will show up in CS releases for 8.1 for those who are not going to jump on PT9.

Indeed there will be - we have several upcoming CS releases with a majority of our developers working on bug fixes for Pro Tools 9, 8.1 and 8.0.4. The specific MIDI/ADC issue you mentioned will be merged into 8.1, but I don't think it will go into 8.0.4 due to the structural changes in IO Setups in 8.1 (and 9) that prevent it from being put into 8.0.4.
