Will AVID make us PAY for a MIDI Timing fix?

We also plan on merging it into a CS release for 8.1.

Hopefully more PT9 fixes will show up in CS releases for 8.1 for those who are not going to jump on PT9.

Indeed there will be - we have several upcoming CS releases with a majority of our developers working on bug fixes for Pro Tools 9, 8.1 and 8.0.4. The specific MIDI/ADC issue you mentioned will be merged into 8.1, but I don't think it will go into 8.0.4 due to the structural changes in IO Setups in 8.1 (and 9) that prevent it from being put into 8.0.4.

So.... are these problem finally fixed? I don't know.. PT 10 can handle midi properly? Because I have 9 and it doesn't

I haven't noticed any improvements compared to 8
