Cue Monitoring
Hi all. I have only been on the ICON for a day now, I looked in the manual and searched the forums. Ok, the question is... Is there anyway to switch the monintoring to Cue 1 via the monitor section? I want to hear my headphone mix without patching, just a quick switch to hear outputs 3&4, which feed Cue 1.
thanks.. |

Re: Cue Monitoring
No. A possible workaround, as suggested by the guys at Digi, was to route the output of the SLS to one of the stereo monitor inputs. But, of course, you lose your SLS capability. I really wish they had thought this one out.

Re: Cue Monitoring
Why can't you solo your cue send inside PT and if you're using a PFL bus (using 2 more outs of course) you'd be able to hear it that way? I'm not an ICON owner yet so I may be missing something here.

Re: Cue Monitoring
What I've done to get around this is to have my monitor mix permanently multed on the (analog) patch bay and one split comes back on Stereo 4 on the XMon. I'm always one press away from hearing it and at the same time I can patch over it if I want Stereo 4 back for some other reason.

Re: Cue Monitoring
Ya the work-around I am using is patching outputs 3&4 (cue1) into Stereo Inputs 1&2. I guess I am not all that surprised that I wouldn't be able to listen to any of the cues from internal routing. At least they did put the Headphone connection in.

Re: Cue Monitoring
Same workaround as Mikey, works perfect for me.

Re: Cue Monitoring
I always had a set of cans plugged into the front of the D-Command.
But I'd rather have had it come up on the monitors.

Re: Cue Monitoring
So I guess there must be some flaw in my thinking as no one has responded to my suggestion?
I've mocked it up (minus the ICON of course) and it seems to work. Use a bus for your headphone mix, route that to an Aux Input, route that to your outputs used for headphones, put PT in PFL solo mode and when you solo the Aux input, it's sent to the dedicated solo buss you've set up in the I/O window. Does this not accomplish what you're trying to do? |
