11.2.1 Video Playback...Need Help

Hello! I am running Pro Tools 11.2.1 on a mid-09 MBP with 8gb ram and CANNOT for the life of me get a .mov file to playback in a session. All I get is a black video box. I've tried everything I have read about on the forums/internet: disabling-enabling AVE, converting to a DNxHD codec, countless restarts. Been working at this most of the day just so I can mix some sounds to a video clip my professor gave me. File plays back fine in quicktime, logic pro X, etc. Need to do the project on Pro Tools though. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
