Default How to get Beat/Bars out of my view?

I have 6.4 and for some reason I'm stuck with Beat/Bars view.
I've tried to go to View>Bars Beat and uncheck it but it won't work.
I've also tried to uncheck it from the little button on the left hand side in the user edit view but it's grayed out over there. And stays grayed out no matter what I do.
How do I get rid of this?

I believe you need to have at least one up there, either bars/beats, samples, time, etc. If one of the others aren't selected you won't be able to get rid of it. Maybe I'm wrong?

You can't hide the current timeline.. change to another time base.. then you can hide the others.
