I don't see why it wouldn't. You'll need a GIGA compatible sound card (preferably one with ADAT - for 8 channels of GIGA into PTLE). You'd probably get better results if you put your GIG data files on a separate hard drive from your PTLE tracks.

Lots of people are streaming HALion samples into SX on the same PC so I don't why you can't do the same with GIGA. Especially with a PC like yours.

Giga needs its own soundcard so you;ll need a mixer to route properly. I chucked Giga for Kontakt which reads DFD Giga librairies. Kontakt is not yet RTAS but I worked with it in SX and preferred it to Giga.
If you are already set up with Gigastudio, try it out and download ( when available) Kontakt and then judge.

that's actually not true. the latter part of that statement, that is.

MachFIVE is currently Mac only. they plan to release a Windows version, for VST and DirectX.

notice the Windows version doesn't include RTAS. there are no definite plans for RTAS PC. they are, quote, "considering" RTAS PC. basically, don't be suprised if it never happens.

...whereas Kontakt WILL be out for RTAS PC this month. at the latest, next month. Kontakt for RTAS PC is second on their list, once they get Absynth out for RTAS first. NI releases RTAS PC and RTAS Mac @ the SAME time always.

besides, Kontakt is better, because it does direct from disk streaming. MachFIVE does not, making it useless for the really heavy duty Giga sample libraries. i mean, yes, MOTU says direct from disk streaming will be provided in a later update, but judging by how timely their updates for DP (their flagship software) roll by, i wouldn't hold my breath. ...whereas Kontakt already has DFD.

yeah, it's no secret NI keeps pushing back their dates. but, i know Kontakt is second on their list after Absynth. Absynth is already OSX, so they just have to sort out the RTAS (PC & Mac) part now. i'm pretty sure they'll be able to do 2 product updates in 1 (@ most 2) months. i mean, they've already done B4, FM7, and Vokator, so they are getting things done, just not as fast as they originally say they would.

but something like Battery, which is also slated for October release.. now that's something i wouldnt' expect til december, or the new year.
