Does anyone succesfully exchange OMF files without Digitranslator?

I wanted to have files converted and called a couple of local commercial studios and both said they hadn't used it in years and weren't sure they still had the software loaded.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Digitranslator is part of the new PT toolkit option soon to be released?

I have been working with a guy using Nuendo and we have terrible luck getting tracks to import. Even when he renders the tracks it seams as if some tracks never "line up" correctly.

I'm getting ready to bite the bullet and buy the program, i just don't want to get it and discover it wasn't really the option i need to transfer these types of files...unfortunately it appears this is the option???

The $1300 DV Toolkit 2? Yes.

The $500 Music Production Toolkit? No.

Are you consolidating each track from start fo finish? I've been working with Logic users and haven't had any problem with getting the tracks into there as wav files. I've even imported a few things into Tracktion with no problems.
Peace

this brings me to wonder weather the fact that Digi are charging $495 for Digitranslator mean that Cubase is essentially free and Stienberg are charging all that money purely for the OMF functionality?

Consolidate your tracks. You'll save some money, time, and a few headaches.
