Digidesign has officially qualified Mac OS X 10.4.6 for PPC* with all of the following systems:
  • Pro Tools HD 7.0/7.1
  • Pro Tools LE 7.0/7.1
  • Pro Tools M-Powered 7.0/7.1
*PowerPC models only. Intel-based Macs are currently not supported with any version of Pro Tools. Digidesign currently anticipates that we will release versions of Pro Tools LE 7 and Pro Tools M-Powered 7 software that are compatible with Intel-based Apple computers in May 2006.

However, though the Delta 1010LT is listed as a compatible device, v 2.0.5 of the M-Audio Delta driver does not function properly with my MDD 1.25 GHz Dual Power Mac: it allows only two analog output channels rather than the eight it should provide, and it often (actually, "usually") causes a kernel panic when I launch PTMP. And even during normal use, when I'm not using PTMP and don't have the 1010LT selected as my sound card, my computer will not sleep. In order to get eight output channels, I have to reboot from a partition with 10.4.3 on it and v 2.0.3 of the Delta driver installed.

I would be very interested to find out if anyone else has had similar experiences vis-à-vis the number of channels problem and has found a workaround with 10.4.6.
