PT Update Without Avid Support

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy...

The current yearly update for PT vanilla on Sweetwater is $199, listed as 'Update+Support Plan Renewal'. In my almost 20 years of using PT, I have never asked Avid for any support. My entire support has been and continues to be from the DUC.

Is it possible to renew only an update subscription without a support plan? Thanks!

In previous years the renewal and the support plan were separate. This past year, however, Avid changed that to be only the combined renewal & support plan as one price. So, the short answer is "no," you can not only renew without the support plan.

Disclaimer: I am speaking about the perpetual license renewal for 1-year of updates for vanilla Protools. This is not to be confused with the subscription license (which I don't have experience with)

Thanks. I used the word 'subscription' unintentionally. I meant the annual renewal.
