Default BlackOut Tuesday’s gonna need a whole lot more than 24 Hours

This got me treading in uncharted DUC waters:
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p...47#post2568047

Free speech - The First Amendment of the United States Constitution – means those who stand together and condemn the evils of racism are not terrorists – they are merely trying to say “enough is enough” and it’s about time we all (Australians included) put an end to racism.

My heart goes out to George Floyd’s family, whose world has been turned upside down, forever.

Everybody in the world of modern music knows Black lives matter – in reality, our world would be worthless, without their phenomenal talent.

I hope people from all around the world voice their heart-felt disapproval of this travesty, to help us all understand the importance of equality. This might help show the Floyd family their George’s death was not completely in vain.

Martin Luther King Jr lit the torch of dignity and respect. We can carry this torch one step further, if we never forget why George died.

We need a FixUp, quick.

Bill Putnam of Universal Audio put out an email this morning about BlackOut Tuesday so it's not just Avid. It's a shame that the peaceful/meaningful voices are getting drowned out by the rioters.

I noticed this morning that the Pro Tools Expert website had this message up instead of the usual homescreen. Apparently this is all that you can see on their website today.

As our Nation reels from the violence, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact of actual racism that runs that sadly runs so deep within our culture. The systemic racism we've grappled with for decades has roots in, of all things, science. The documentary film "Human Zoos" produced by Discovery Institute does a great job exposing the role science played in fostering systemic racism in the US.

I was privileged to have composed and produced the music score for this documentary. I will tell you that when I received the original video segments, I found so much of shocking and horrifying, that I was literally trying to compose the music through tears! I hope some of you will take an hour to watch this moving story. And vow to never, ever let this continue!

I'm proud to see us 'techies' dealing with Black Out Tuesday. I've always resented the sync process using the "master-slave" analogy. The profit motive drives all forms of white supremacy and male domination. The only thing of value is property. Debt is the new 'chains'. We have abandoned our right and duty as citizens to govern OURSELVES DEMOCRATICALLY. We work with these modern immersive tools so that we can more potently communicate Our-Stories and fight for global democracy and human rights. Props to PTE! Long Live George Floyd!

The George Floyd video is really hard to watch, the four officers involved all belong in jail. As a white man who has spent most of his life living in the Minneapolis area, I was aware that there were police problems in Minneapolis and St Paul... but did not realize how deeply rooted the problems were. I really hope our country can come together and finally solve these systemic issues. I have seen a lot of people coming together and helping clean up the areas that have been destroyed here, which is a start... we all need to keep this going and fix this problem for good.

I still can’t bring myself to watch it – and I don’t think I ever will.

I did see the heart-breaking video of Gianna Floyd, the 6-year-old daughter of George Floyd, and her mother Roxie Washington
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-...?section=world

George’s death is so incredibly sad and so completely unnecessary, with such profound consequences.
Justice for George – I think that’s why this story has touched so many people from all around the world.

Pay no mind to any divisive dialogue that dribbles on down – this is a time for healing, not hatred.
Right in the middle of a pandemic, too, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Here in Australia, we had the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody in 1991. At least 432 people have died, without a single conviction.

I’d like to take this chance to share a magnificent song about another senseless death; it has some stunning visual images that hopefully help ease some of the pain:

How could it fail to grab your attention?

I've never liked the "Master-Slave" language for the syncing process either. I'm surprised it hasn't been addressed more within the software plugin developer community.

Same here - and I forgot to say: Welcome to the DUC!

It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but perhaps Microsoft Word “Windings 2” Symbols for #1 and #2 would be better.

Copy & paste to use again.
