Default Ableton vs Elastic Time?

I swear I've searched and don't find this obvious topic discussed previously.

Can anyone give a detailed comparison of Ableton Live's Warp functionality vs Elastic Time?

From what I'm reading it looks like Elastic Time can do some greater editing -- like altering tails of individual beats and such -- almost like Dynasone?

How's the sound quality compare (with full album tracks, major time compression, and quantization of internal beat grid)?

Do you have PT 7.4?

If so, it also comes with Live Lite....import the same audio file into both and have a listen

Well you see I'm considering getting a Pro Tools system now that PT has Elastic Time.

But there's no demo to see if elastic time makes it worth getting... : )

BTW for your own reference -- Ableton Live Lite (probably) doesn't have the best warping algorithm (Complex)...

I think Pro Tools sound better. I don't think Abletons sound as bad as some people have claimed, which makes me wonder if they've turned on the right settings at all.

The difference between the two are huge regardless of sound quality. You simply don't use the two the same way. Both have their strengths for sure.
