Default Calculating combined length of clips

Hi there - does anyone know if there's a way to select multiple, non-continuous clips, and have Pro Tools calculate their combined length, not including the space between them? I have multiple music tracks that I've laid out on a feature film, and I need a quick way to work out how much I've used.

I've tried to use the object grabber tool, and deselect 'Link Timeline and Edit Selection', but that still includes the space between clips in the calculation.

I know of no way to do what you want. The only idea I can offer is this;
Duplicate the playlist first(because you will be changing the duplicate).
Use the proper key commands to place all the clips together.
Once they are together with no blank space, you can select all and see the total time in the counter window.
Once you have the info you wanted, you can delete this duplicate playlist(or hide it if you think you might need to re-visit later).

One way :
New session, import the music tracks, File > Export > Session Info as Text.
Excel, import data from this text.
All fields with DURATION, format as hh:mm:ss,000.
(In case the durations are like 3:24.000 : bulk-replace dot with comma.)
Next to the cells with duration, enter formula =Value(of the left cell).
Sum all Value-cells.

Here's an idea, never tried it, though:
New empty audio track, put PT in Shuffle mode, select all the clips and drag them onto the empty track. You should be able to see the min/sec where the last clip ends.

Hey. You probably don't need this info anymore, but thought I'd drop in my 2 cents.

I do this all the time for calculating total music durations for shows/films. The quick/dirty way is to:

- go to the clip list drop down and make sure you're Timeline Drop Order is set to left to right
- select all your music clips (just fullmix if you have stemmed cues)
- make sure to strip silence if you have handles on the clips
- now in the clip list, all of your music clips will be highlighted. Grab and drag any of the highlighted clips back onto the timeline and all of them will follow, left to right, butted right up against one another. They'll be selected when you drop them in so you can just check your selection Length in the top screen counter to see your total music duration.

Pics attached for reference.

Cheers!
