Default Using 002 as soundcard question

Hi all,
I have no problem using my 002 to playback audio from other programs but have never needed to input audio to a non-pro tools program via a microphone...until now.
Any tips on how I'd get a mic input through my 002 to a third party program?

Any help appreciated,
J.D

jwd65,
The options are a little different in each apps. What are you planning on using ?
It'll be under : Preferences/Audio IO setup/..or the like.
As said above..ASIO only, so you must have the correct version of the Digidesign driver installed.

good luck,

Can you not just record whatever you need to record with a mic into PT, then bounce the file and use it in whatever app you want to work with? What are you trying to do exactly?

that's what I was thinking of..
ASIO support ??
I think not. I use SKYPE a lot with a cheap computer mic into the PC sound card. Works great

good luck,

Okay folks, one last question on this thread from me (I hope):

My soundcard was pretty much disabled from the builder in favor of the 002 for audio playback.

The instant messenger program I mentioned does playback on the 002 but I need to get audio INTO the computer. Can anyone please recommend a plug and play device that would input audio inexpensively into my PC?

Any help appreciated,
J.D
