Default Anyone still use a DIGI 001?

Hello,

I see digidesign doesn't support the DIGI 001 anymore, so can anyone tell me what the most modern PC available is that the 001 will run on?

I've been looking at Pentium D dual core processors running at 3GHz+, (which will support a DIGI002 with LE 7.0), but anyone know if a 001 with LE6.4 is also compatible?

Any help at all will be great, thanks!

PT 6.4 will run on a Digi 001. That's the highest supported version. As far as what's the best computer that will support a Digi 001, good question. I would imagine anything that is supported by Digi currently. Although that is a crap shoot I suppose considering the 001 is discontinued. Hopefully someone will chime in who has a dual core and running an 001 to verify if it works or not. Keep in mind though, PT 6.4 doesn't utilize dual core processors.

Don't waste your money on a dual core processor for the 001 as it will not get you any added benefits. The AMD 64 single core processors work and will get you added results though. An A8V Deluxe and AMD 64 939 processor would be a good way to go and allow you to upgrade in the future if you want to. There are alot more 001 users out there than you would think.

Yeah, I've had mine since they first came on the market... Still using it a lot and never had an ounce of trouble out of it... I've thought about going to the 002, but just don't see where the benefits out-weight the costs... I think I'll just hold off for a bit longer and pick up the 003... I'm sure it won't be very long till we see it... I hope not very long anyways..

I love my 001. was a big upgrade for me from my old Echo Gina20, runs great and is very reliable on my system.
I have no idea about the dual/ core or dwual cpu thing.
I can run with pro tools with a buffer of 128 with ease and with the asio driver it runs even better. It is strange to me that I have way more cpu headroom running Nuendo vs Pro Tools. I would think it would work better on its own platform and with its own software. Are you guys experiencing the same thing?
Dont sound bad either.

I love my 001, had it running solid for years.

I just took my 002R back today. Never could get it to work right after months of trying.....

$.02

Without a doubt, PT is the "heaviest" audio application I use with the Digi hardware.

Still, I'd be first in line at the Digistore if they made the new Toolkit available for 001 users.

Sorry to paraphrase the vernacular of teenagers but ... oh...my...god... Mention 001 and all the young dudes suddenly reappear. Allan Hallada - JMS40 - Vocalvoodoo - jjhuntfox - surely DaBastaardz. All the fellows I learnt my [bleep] from. Is this, like, a friends reunited on DUC?

Gotta say, 001 with v6.4 - does everything a geezer with a guitar needs ( oh, add Amplitube, Giga3, Reason3 blah ...
