Default Connecting Digi002, Motif, MPC2000XL, EMU Synth

Digi002, Motif, MPC2000XL, EMU (TurboPhatt) Synth. Does any one have these devices connected together and running properly thru midi? I want to sequence with the MPC and use the Motif and EMU as sound sources, then record midi to protools. What is the best way to connect and configure these device together?

I have a 002R and a moif rack. The motif has a USB port and drivers that allow you to use midi via usb. Works pretty good for my uses. Not sure about the other stuff though.

well. let me see. i own a 002r, motif rack, emu turbo phatt, roland xv-5050,virus c,triton studio. i also own a midiman 8x8 which made these pieces easier to manage . before the midiman i just had them chained together, which worked well for me. i dont like the whole usb thing. i would totally suggest a midi man whether it be a 2x2 or 8x8. it allows you to do so much. but if you cant afford that right now i'm sure you could make a chain from the controller to and thru the pieces you own then out to your 002 . i think that would work. now i have question for you .i have the emu mastered but the motif has got me .. any tips??

It took me a while to learn the motif. But things got a bit easier when I ordered the instructional dvd's because the manual is a bit confusing. Goto www.motifator.com and order from their. Also use their forum for any questions you have its preaty good. www.motifator.com/forum. Until then, if you look in the manual skip all the fluff and only read the chapters that are highlighted in the index in the front of the book. This is the info you need for basic operation of the motif, the first couple chapters has nothing to do with how to use it.

On another note, I have everything chained together but my problem is when I try to record or play notes from my keyboard it plays the EMU at the same time. For some reason I cant stop the EMU from playing with the keyboard.

How much did you pay for your midi man, and who is the manufacturer?

Where did you get it from. Im thinking about getting it. I cant find it for no less than $269, the average price being $299.

I thought it was a programing error on my part. How do you turn off a specific channel on the emu? Right now I think its responding to all channels.
