Re: What equipment do I need to do voice-overs?
I've been going direct into Digi001 mic pre with the NTK and shut off the phantom power as it has its own power supply. I then record with the Waves Rennaisance Native plugins on the vocal track, usually an eq., compressor, and reverb (50% wet). You can buy this bundle for around 189.00 now from Guitar Center and it is killer. That is it.

Re: What equipment do I need to do voice-overs?
I would say ( thinking that you are at home ) that a iso booth is the way too go. No mic, pre-amp or compressor will do if there is a dog barking in the background.
Once you have a good isolation, you can appreciate more the difference in quality from microphone and pre-amp combo. Of course if you have the money ( once you have isolation ) A good mic, pre-amp and compressor is the way to go. Maybe the Mbox for you???
