Re: Pro Tools constantly crashing while saving
I had this problem on a Mac running 11. If you read around online you will see that 90% of the time this problem is caused by 3rd party plugins, which was stated pages back in this thread. Create a folder on your desktop and start dragging out plugins one at a time (thats how I did it.) Took a few hours, but it was totally worth it when I nailed down the issue.

Re: Pro Tools constantly crashing while saving
I would guess they are in the 10%, honestly. Read around here, over at gearslutz... So many times it plugins. For me it was iZotope Stutter Edit. I'm waiting for an update before I reinstall it, though I haven't checked recently. I should do that!

Re: Pro Tools constantly crashing while saving, Maybe
Might be a similar issue but crashing none the less...
Just updated to os 10.8.5. Did the trashing stuff via PT Prefs app, repaired permissions, removed a couple new plug ins and re installed pro tools. Seemed more stable with PT 10.3.8 and OSX 10.8.4 First problem was when trying to quantize to grid a piece of audio that had been previously cut up by beat detective and had fades on the tops and tail of the audio... removing fades from that whole track worked ok after all those trouble shooting steps. this morning DIfferent session another crash... Heres the report going to remove a couple other recent plug in additions and see... I know for me through the years it rarely EVER is a exactly reproducible problem.. Just happens and hard to track down and hard to read into it from the crash reports, for me at least. System config in signature. . currently NOT using a 003 just using a NI Audio 10, no drivers just plug and play for a temporary set up. ----- Code:

Re: Pro Tools constantly crashing while saving
Thanks for posting a crash report/stack trace. If you start by removing all third party plugins does this crash still happen? Just the quickest way of trying to excluding them as a possible causes--even if they have appeared to be OK in the past.

Re: Pro Tools constantly crashing while saving
Yet another reason to ditch Daws/PT and go HDmultitrack.
If its not one thing it will be another I guarantee. |
