Default Pro Tools 12.8.3 Won't play - (Found the answer)

*Thanks anyway, but I changed the playback engine HW Buffer Size and it was solved*

I've had this problem before, but I had solved it for a long time.

Running PT 12 on a Win 7 Pro HP (below), everything fine.

A few days ago, I started getting DAE Errors, so I upgraded to 12.8.3 directly from AVID download.

Now PT opens up, but the play button won't work, nothing. The Play button flashes a few times with the Stop button lit up next to it.. and the music doesn't play.

I have trashed all of the preferences and optimized the HP laptop.

I do not see any reference to this issues since about 2012 on google, or 2009 on avid.

Any suggestions?

Make sure Wait For Midi Note isn't accidentally turned on(its the little "clock face" below the Transport buttons)

I encountered the same problem yesterday after having installed Pro Tools 12.8.3 on High Sierra (previously I was running 12.4 on Yosemite). This trick instantly solved the issue, thanks! (By this, I mean that the same issue can affect macOS.)
