Default where are the instruments??

I have loaded protools LE7.3 onto my mac mini (intel 10.6) and have hooked up (usb) a m box2 mini and a m audio midi (usb) keyboard.
All i want to do is create a new track and find some drums (or any other instruments) for that matter and record. I can get a meter reading but I can not get any sounds.
Are the sounds part of the disc I loaded (LE7.3) or do I have to go somewhere else to get the sounds??

WHERE ARE THE INSRTUMENTS??????
PLS HELP

It's been a long time since I last used PT7 but in case I remember this correctly, PT7 does not have instruments by default (you need to buy some). AFAIK, it was PT8 which had lots of new stuff with it.

That is correct. The only instrument that was available for PT7 was the original Xpand 1. If you don't have it, you can download it from here and install it:

http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/do...oftware/Xpand/

This does at least have a few drum sounds, as well as a variety of others.

Simple ProTools operations: an instrument track would be easiest as it combines a MIDI track and an aux track. Create an instrument track and click on an insert slot and insert xpand or whatever vi you want to use. Then select a patch in that vi (virtual instrument).

Pays to read the User's Guide (aka The Manual) - that way you find out all kinds of stuff you must know to use PT effectively.
