Help w/(9129),(9094) errors
I know others have had this problem but...
I can't seem to get through a song without one of two cpu errors on my Powerbook G4; (9129)"Audio processing is conflicting with other cpu tasks. if this occurs often, reducing the playback engine dialog may help prevent this problem." And; (9094)"The operating system held off interupts for too long. If this occurs often try increasing the h/w buffer size." I've been trying to fix this problem for about a year and am beginning to feel this situation is hopeless. I'm running Pro Tools 6.9 with Reason 3.0.4 in Rewire mode. The errors happen constantly with just a few sequences in Reason... and a couple of Pro Tools tracks with one or two plug-ins. I have tried every one of the troubleshooting methods numerous times... without success. I have a Powerbook G4... with OSX 10.3.9. Processor 1.33mhz Memory 1.5 GB L2 cache 512 kb bus speed 167 mhz Lacie 250 GB firewire drive. Mbox Pro Tools 6.9 Reason 3.0.4 In Pro Tools I have the H/W Buffer size 1024 samples CPU limit 85% DAE Playback buffer at level 8. I have tried many different combinations in the Playback engine. Is there any known fix of this problem? I would so appreciate any advice. I'm trying to do a soundtrack project and have spent way more time trying to fix this problem than playing music. |

Re: Help w/(9129),(9094) errors
since i didn't get a response to my first post... let me pose this in a different way.
What sort of performance should I be capable of with Pro Tools Le 6.9 running on a Powerbook G4... with a 1.33 mhz processor and 1.5 gb memory... with Reason 3.0.4 in Rewire mode? Is it normal that I should only be able to run several tracks in Reason, and two tracks in Pro Tools with one or two plug ins? And anything beyond that generate CPU holding off errors? I'm just wondering because maybe I've set my expectations too high. I've really spent months trying to figure this out... and would really like to use PT. It seems that other people with Powerbooks are able to function normally. I'm wondering if my computer just happens to be cursed. Any advice from ANYONE would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Help w/(9129),(9094) errors
You should see fine performance.
I see your DAE Playback buffer is at level 8 - have you tried it at level 2? Do these errors only occur if you have Reason in a session? Did anything change when you tried a new admin account, as per the troubleshooting suggestions? Do you have any wireless/bluetooth or Airport items enabled? If you go to MacHD>Library>Startup Items - what's in that folder? |

Re: Help w/(9129),(9094) errors
Hey digi..
thanks for replying. *** I have tried the DAE at level 2. It makes no difference. ***The problem does occur more often with Reason running. I just tried an experiment with a song I have... 1 track of Reason and 2 PT tracks. The song would generate CPU error toward the end. So I tried adding five plug-ins... and another track in PT. The song ran fine all the way through... and generated a CPU error at the exact same spot toward the end... as it did without all the plug-ins and extra track. *** When I changed the Admin Account... it didn't change anything. *** My airport, and bluetooth is all turned off. *** Inside my Startup items are the Digidesign loader... the M-audio loader... and Pace support for my m-audio keyboard. I tried moving it... but the keyboard would no longer work. |
