I had an instance with a session today where I had to bypass all plugins in the session shift-click opening the session to get playback without an AAE6 error. When I removed the plugins that no longer existed in my system, saved and reopened the session playback was fine. No error.

We all know PT is like many other windows programs and makes settings changes during exit routines. The cache files you talked about is part of that. I've had that issue sometimes, too. I have a very small Session in the "Recent" list that I use sometimes as the first Session when opening PT. Just opening and closing it will normally be enough, but sometimes I need to open it and then open the bigger session from the file menu. I just got to that point the other day on my latest.

Hello, I had this problem with a friends laptop today, if you're still having problems I have found the solution (I hope it worked for us). If you just go into the properties of ProTools > Compatibility tab > tick the box for "Run this program as an administrator", your error should disappear. Hope this helps

Hi thats good it resolved to you . Well the thing is that run as administrator is a windows optimization tweak recomeded by Avid in their website page .

In my case i have the 6 error a few times with this setting and without it . I concluded that it was caused by a combination of factors . If you dig on this topics maybe you will found them . But good to know it resolved it for you !

Just want you to know that I also resolved the issue by moving all "bx_" plugins to the Unused folder. The interesting thing is that only sessions are affected, which were originally created on my MAC system and were then opened on my Windows 10 system.

Both systems are running with PT HD 12.7.1 (HDX on my Mac, Native with a MOTU 828x interface on Windows). Sessions that were created on PC work fine with Brainworx Plugins loaded.

Interesting ! Do you have the lastest BX plugins verison installed ?
